SANTOS FRANCO RIVERA Feb. 16, 1933 - August 21, 2018 JENNIE MACIAS RIVERA May 24, 1934 - Sept. 21, 2018 Santos Rivera was born and raised in Riverside, CA; Jennie Macias was born and raised in Banning, CA. They came together at an evening dance as young adults, and became inseparable, marrying within a year or so. Newly married, Santos and Jennie lived in Riverside, and started their family of 6 children; stepson David, Delia, Cindy, Bonnie, Tonia, and Don. Two of their daughters, Bonnie and Tonia, preceded them in death and these daughters' children were happily raised by their loving grandparents. Santos and Jennie were blessed with 14 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Santos and Jennie loved to travel, camp, and spend time with their friends and family. Their home was a center of celebrations, holidays and performances by their grandchildren. In their younger years, they hosted friends; dancing and laughing into the wee hours, Santos proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict, and retired from a long term employment with the Riverside School District. He loved music and his family. He was an avid outdoorsman, whose passions included hunting, fishing and Budweiser. Jennie worked as a supervisor in retail at Harris' and Broadway for 25 years, but was most proud of her community service. She worked at the YWCA and the Casa Blanca Home of Neighborly Service. She knew that building a better community is better for everyone, and served on Casa Blanca Action Group, Project Action Community, Casa Blanca Youth Advisory Board, Neighborly Advisory Group, Advisory Committee for Inter-Police Community Relations, and the Brown-Baggers. Jennie was an avid gardener, reader and traveler. Her most recent trips to Hawaii and Puerto Rico were dreams come true. Santos' parents were Ignacio and Adelida Rivera; his many brothers and sisters: Irma, Lucy, Eleanor, Chavo, Maggie, Tony, Junie, and their spouses. Jennie Macias Rivera's parents were Jesus and Dolores Macias; her many brothers and sisters: Lulo, Mickie, Nacho, Henry, Ruben, Lupe, Joe, Jessie, Sandy, Jimmy, Dolores, Linda, Michael, Richard, Sylvia, and their spouses. Services will be on Friday, September 28, 2018: Visitation from 9am-10am at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, Riverside, CA, 951-688-1221; Funeral Mass from 11am-12pm at St. Anthony's Church, Riverside, CA followed by Graveside Service from 12:30pm-1:00pm at Olivewood Memorial Park, Riverside, CA.
