

Perris, California – Sharon Avon Yancey Burton, 89, passed away in her sleep on the morning of
Saturday December 31, 2022.
She was born December 3, 1933 in Pocatello, ID to William and Arvilla Yancey but lived in
Blackfoot, ID. She was the oldest of six children. She later grew up in Hunter and Magna, Utah
and attended Brigham Young University for one year after graduating high school.
She met her husband while attending BYU, and was married to Howard Edward Burton in the
Salt Lake Temple on May 7, 1954. Her greatest passion in life was family history and
genealogy. She worked on her family line every chance she had.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in various
callings throughout her life.
She was the mother to 7 children, Stephen, Paul, Brent (predeceased), Leslie, Laura, Tim, and
Brian. She has 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren living in various places throughout
the United States. Her family siblings are, David, Vern, Ivan (predeceased), Ann, and Paula
(predeceased).
Sharon will be laid to rest at Payson City Cemetary, in Payson, Utah.
