

Steven Andrew Aceves,38, of Fontana, CA, passed away on October 6, 2025 in Riverside, California. He bravely fought cancer over the last seven years with strength, perseverance, tenacity and dignity. Steven was truly inspiring and a true warrior. He was surrounded by his family in his last days, never alone and was showered with love.
Steven was born on March 9, 1987, in Anaheim, California to Ruben and Katherine Aceves. He grew up in Corona, California, and graduated from Norco High School in 2005. In 2012, he earned his degree in Sociology from California State University, San Bernardino—the same year he married the love of his life, Nikisha Marie Todd.
Steven worked for the City of Ontario in the Public Works Department, where he built many close friendships and earned the deep respect of his colleagues. Those bonds of friendship shone brightly when his friends and coworkers organized a highly successful citywide fundraiser in his honor. Following his passing, the City paid tribute to him with a heartfelt moment of silence.
Steven loved spending time with his family, whether playing board games, watching musicals and anime, or simply enjoying each other's company. A devoted Dodgers fan, he attended many games and created lasting memories along the way. He also enjoyed playing the piano, golfing, and making sugar cookies with his daughters.
Steven is preceded in death by his mother Katherine Lynn Aceves and is survived by his wife of 12 years, Nikisha Marie Todd; step-daughter Destiney; daughter Kaelynn Aceves; daughter Leanna Aceves; bonus son Samuel; father Ruben Aceves Sr.; step-mother Alma Aceves; sister Michelle Aceves-Southall; brother Ruben Aceves Jr.; brother Nicholas Jose Aceves; sister Natalie Marie Aceves and an extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Steven will be deeply missed, and his absence is profoundly felt by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, determination, and bravery that will continue to live on through his family. A cherished friend to many, Steven’s warmth, strength, and compassion touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary Chapel: 7944 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92504. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held from 12:30pm-4:00pm at Eagle Glen Golf Club: 1800 Eagle Glen Pkwy., Corona, CA 92883.
