Dr. Carney was a wonderful, considerate, intelligent person.  He was a loving spouse to his wife and devoted father to his family.   Even at 95 his mind was so sharp.  The years I knew him at World Savings and was his secretary were very special to me.  I am happy to have spoken with him not too long before his death.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.   

Dad was a strong man of God who loved his family unconditionally. He was a mentor and a servant to everyone he met and worked with. He was always there to help in any way he could and nothing was to big or to small for him to handle. Thanks Dad for your wisdom and advice while I was growing up. I have used what you have taught me and have passed it down to my children and they intern have continued your legacy through their children and future generations to come. Love you Dad. John

I will forever be thankful to Walt (Dad) for loving me like one of his own children.  I married his second son, John, and he was always loving and supportive of me.  He taught me to not be afraid to share Christ with others and he loved God with all his heart.  He was always sharing this love with others down to the last week of his life.  

He loved his family as well with all his heart, from his wife down to his great-grandchildren.  He was always genuinely interested in everyone’s’ lives.

Walt was a strong man who loved God, family, his country and others!  I will miss him, but I’m so happy he is celebrating in heaven with God and all those he loves that have gone on before him.

Thank you for being such a great father-in-law.  I love you.

My Grandpa was a wonderful man, a warrior for the Lord. He loved his family tremendously and prayed for all of us daily. His greatest goal was to lead others to the Lord. He is now rejoicing with Him in Heaven and we could not be more at peace and thrilled to know he is with the Lord in Heaven. 

Our precious Grandpa (aka GGPa) was a special man. Not only was he Michael’s grandpa but he was friends with my grandparents and parents. My mom grew up going to church with the Carney family. Grandma Carney played the piano for my mom’s audition for Cal Baptist College now CBU. She ended up getting a scholarship for music. This lead to her traveling to Sweden to sing where she met my dad. After my parents were married my parents moved to California and Walt Carney hired my dad to work at World Savings Bank in Ontario where he was the VP. My parents got pregnant with me and decided to move back to Sweden where we lived until I was five years old. We stayed close friends with the Carney family. My parents always admired the Carneys. Fast forward to Michael’s parents (Tim and Carolyn) 25th wedding anniversary in February 2000. My family was invited as guests and it was there that Michael and I started our love story. I ended up moving to Southern California in June 2000. Guess where I got a job? World Savings Bank on Euclid Ave. in Ontario, the same place my dad had worked 20+ years earlier. Needless to say, this man was very special. He always treated me like a granddaughter and loved his great grandchildren very much. He was a strong, God-fearing man, sharp, kind, giving man who I will forever admire. We love you.
