Wendy Gail Ferguson

Wendy was born on January 17, 1948 in Long Beach, CA to parents Gayle and Ruth (Davies) Thomas. Wendy was raised in Long Beach with her three siblings, Greg, Gary and Cindy. Wendy welcomed her son Mark in 1966, daughter Deana in 1968 and daughter Renee in 1970. On March 19, 1977 Wendy married her soul mate Clarence Ray Ferguson in Las Vegas, NV. Wendy and Clarence lived many happy years with their blended family in Cerritos, CA. Wendy worked in the aerospace industry in administration for over 20 years. Wendy retired from Cordova Bolt in 2010. In 2012 Wendy and Clarence bought their dream retirement home in Las Vegas, NV. For the next four years they made many many happy memories and enjoyed their well earned retirement to the fullest. After the tragic passing of her husband, Wendy moved to Riverside, CA to live with her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Arthur Dodge. She spent the last 6 years of her life watching her family grow and being loved and cared for by her close-nit family. She was embraced, loved and became Grandma Wendy to the whole Dodge family. Unfortunately during this time Wendy was sadly diagnosed with Alzheimer's which heartbreakingly ended up taking her life. We are grateful to say that during her last year she was tenderly cared for by her son-in-law Arthur and granddaughter-in-law Allison in the comfort of her daughter's home in the room she so proudly had built.

Wendy will be remembered for her generous heart, her love for her family, country music, football, Angel games, gardening, Christmas (and holidays in general), lounging in her pool & spa, playing the slots with her husband in the casinos, spending time with their best friends of over 50 years Patricia and Dannie McCormack, Wednesday nights spent bowling with friends and loved ones and all the many adventures and sleepovers with her grandchildren. Wendy was the epitome of class and grace with a touch of sass and love of family.

Wendy is survived by her son, Mark Cole, daughter and son-in-law, Renee (Cole) and Arthur Dodge. Her grandchildren, Brandy, Amber (Gerald), Tyler, Savanna, and Maguire. And her great grandchildren Ryan (Allison), Zachary, Lucy and Penelope. Wendy and Clarence had a beautiful blended family that included Clarence's children Jim, Bob and Sandy and grandchildren Joe, Jamie, Brandon, Jane, Jared, Jonathan and Brandon.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years Clarence Ray Ferguson, her parents Gayle and Ruth (Davies) Thomas, brother Greg and her beloved daughter Deana Cole.

There will be a graveside service held on February 14, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park 11500 Arlington Ave., Riverside, CA 92505. Followed by a luncheon reception at the family home located at 2961 Yorktown Pl., Riverside, CA 92504. All family friends and loved ones are welcome.
