- John 14:16
On a beautiful Spring day, a precious baby girl named Wilda Marie Clark was born and became a blessing to Margaret Jean and Percy Clark on May 2, 1956. Wilda was a delightful little girl who was raised with a strong belief and faith in God. She attended K Street Seventh Day Adventist Church in San Bernardino, California.
Some of her childhood pastime enjoyments were spending weekly trips to her grandparents Nancy Bell and Willie Clark’s farm and visiting her cousins, the Warhop family in Riverside, California.
As the baby in the family, she made mud pies outdoors and played “House” with her sisters Linda and Alma in the garage. She enjoyed annual family vacations and travelled throughout the United States and Canada. One fond memory of many was of the family horseback riding in Ensenada, Mexico.
Wilda became an avid photographer like her father Percy and enjoyed music similar to her mother Margaret Jean who also loved to dance. Oftentimes, Wilda and her mother attended numerous Natalie Cole concerts together.
Wilda graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1977 and later graduated from La Sierra University in Riverside, California with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a special concentration on Photography.
After college graduation, Wilda relocated to San Diego, California where she met and married Donald Bethea on June 19, 1982. Of this union three children were born: Marcus Donald, Christopher Jason and Jaimara Renee.
Over 35 years, Wilda worked as a Dietitian for the University of California, San Diego Health System. She previously received an award for being an outstanding employee after 25 years of service. On August 27, 2015, she was given esteemed recognition and received a stellar award as an employee who provided over 35 years of service to UC San Diego Health.
On November 7, 2015, Wilda Marie Clark left this world with a legacy filled with love. She was a beautiful, phenomenal woman, a devoted and caring daughter, a dear sister, a beloved mother and grandmother, and treasured friend. All who were fortunate to have met her were touched by her spirit of kindness.
Her father Percy Clark preceded her in death. Those she leaves to cherish and celebrate her memory are her mother, Margaret Jean Smith (Charles), sisters Linda Martin and Alma Clark of San Bernardino, California; her dearest children, Marcus Donald Bethea of San Diego, California, Christopher Jason Bethea of Perris, California and Jaimara Renee Bethea-Parker (Marcus) of Oceanside, California; her delightful grandchildren Little Marcus Bethea, Jade Bethea, Julia Bethea, Cordell Bethea, Jayseon Bethea, Marcus Parker, Jr. and soon to be born grandson, Malachi Parker; her God-parents Marjorie and Matt McCall, aunts Audrey Thomas and Mirel Thomas, uncle Johnny Thomas and best friend Mabelene Faision as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
