He had two sisters, Fely and Evelyn, and four brothers, Nestor, Stephen, Elficer, and Jimmy. He was a telegraph operator for ten plus years. As a child he resided in Banna, Ilocos Norte, Philippines until he was a young adult.
In 1965, he married Rosita Paned. They then migrated to San Francisco and then moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. There he became an American citizen. This was a major contributing factor for the success of the Garcia family. Wilfred has five children, Jovicel, Roy, Wilmer, Leonard, and Karina. He also has, two grandchildren, Jewelyn and Wesley. He made Hawaii his home for many years and worked as a sugar cane plantation mechanic until he left Hawaii.
Wilfred was primarily a plantation mechanic throughout most of his life. He also worked as a lock assembler and a security guard. He then moved back to the Phillippines to retire, where he met his current wife Emalyn Camangeg. They then made a decision to move to Riverside, California, which they lived for fifteen years.
Wilfred was retired and decided to do something he loved, which were gardening and fishing. His favorite thing to wear was his palos (driver’s hat).
Wilfred T. Garcia (affectionately known by family and friends as Willy or Fred), 76, passed away on July 26, 2015 in Riverside, California.
Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents, Eliseo and Pacifica. He is survived by: his wife Emalyn C. Garcia; his sons Jovicel and daughter-in-law Mercy; Roy; Wilmer and daughter-in-law Michelle; Leonard; daughter Karina; his grandchildren Jewelyn and Wesley.
Wilfred was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. The biggest accomplishment of his life was when he married Rosita. This was the contributing factor for the success of the Garcia family. Without them, each and every one of his siblings, wouldn't be where they are today. His duty for love and family earns him the utmost respect, from now to future generations to come. We are very fortunate to be living the lifestyle we live. Sometimes we forget how much of an impact a person has in your life until they are no longer with us. Wilfred would have wanted the next generation of the Garcia’s, to continue the duty of love and family.
You will always be remembered for the sacrifices you’ve made and the wonderful things you have done, which has touch our lives.
Miss you and love you always.
