William Camping passed away at the age of 90 on February 22 with his wife of 66 years by his side. He is also survived by two sons, Terry(Ginny) Camping and Tom(Linda) Camping and two daughters Nancy(Bill) Holderman and Sandra Camping. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald, one daughter, Melinda and two granddaughters, Luanna and Aymee. He had 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren.
Bill was born in Denver, Colorado on September 30, 1925, to immigrant parents, Ralph and Trina, from Holland. He served in the army during WWII in the French Theatre. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. After the war and on the G.I. bill, he graduated first from Calvin College and then from the University of Michigan where he received a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
He met his future wife, Lois Blom, while attending Calvin College. They were married on June 10, 1949. They moved to California in 1950, where he worked in the dairy industry for 40 years. They had six children together and were married 66 years.
The viewing will be Monday, February 29, from 5-8p.m. The memorial service will be on Tuesday, March 1 at 10:00a.m. with the graveside service immediately following. All will be at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn at 11500 Arlington Ave. in Riverside.
