Our family is saddened and heartbroken to announce the passing of our loving and dear wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. April Neilson passed on 6/8/2026 in the presence of her beloved husband, Jason R. Neilson. She was born to Floyd W. Ledford and Colleen Edna Ledford on 11/25/1972 in Murray, UT. At the time, the family was told that Colleen couldn't have any more children; however, in her true fashion, she overcame the odds and became their miracle baby. She was nothing less than a miracle and a blessing to everyone who had the pleasure to know and love her. She was the youngest of 4 children: Brad Ledford, Michelle Finney, and Mark Ledford. As a child, April was always willing to try something new and live life to its fullest. She always loved new adventures and challenges to conquer. She was a very motivated, hard worker; no matter the task, she would give it her all. These aspects and so much more of her childhood helped form her into a loving, caring, compassionate daughter, mother, wife, and friend.
In 1995, April became a mother for the first time to her daughter Riley Reel, then in 1998 she had the joy of having a second daughter, Kendra Osborne. She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughters, who will miss and love her deeply.
In her late 20's April was introduced to her future husband by her best friend of 37 years Lisa Rees. Jason R. Neilson and April were married May 15th, 2004 in Las Vegas, NV. They then bought and moved into their forever home only weeks later. Throughout their years together, Jason and April loved and looked forward to celebrating their anniversary (the most important date on her calendar) by traveling and spending time on the beach in the warm sunshine. They loved trying new experiences at all the destinations they visited during their 22 years of marriage.
In 2020, April was able to add Nana to her list of names and was a proud grandmother of 2 grandchildren, Jaxon and Jayden, who she couldn't wait to hug and to spoil. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, who were most important to her. April also had a love for animals, especially her dogs. She has touched the lives of all those she has met and formed unbreakable bonds. April was a fiery, funny, energetic, loving, and thoughtful soul who we will all miss greatly and love deeply. P.S. Love you more.
Services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr Millcreek, UT 84106.
