He is preceded in death by: his parents, Ruby Belliston Peterson Rasmussen and Emil Lars Peterson, step-father Alma Rasmussen; and daughter, Sarah Peterson.
He is survived by: his wife, Ileen Marie Goates Peterson; children: Aaron (Molly) Peterson, Anna (João) Santos, Emily (Peter) Lall, and Spencer (Emily) Peterson; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild with 3 more on the way; and sister, Annette Peterson Wanlass.
On April 9, 1971, he was married to Ileen in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. Over the years his hobbies included everything outdoors: hiking, camping, skiing, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He had a green thumb, a love for landscaping his yard with trees, shrubs, and flowers. When he was first married, he owned his own photography studio and later worked as a machinist. He was forever hardworking and could masterfully fix anything around the house. Throughout his life, he struggled with many serious health problems, but rarely missed a day of work. To those who did not know him, he was serious and quiet, but at home he could be quite silly. While we will miss him dearly, we are comforted to know he is finally at rest.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 11th, at 12:00pm in the Sandy LDS Chapel located at 9245 S Quail Run Drive, Sandy, UT. Burial will take place at the Lehi City Cemetery. His family would like to thank the staff at Intermountain Medical Center for their skill and kindness.
