Our handsome Casey joined our Heavenly Father on August 17, 2026, at the age of 42. We don’t know what we will do without our beloved teddy bear. Casey gave the best hugs, and he had a special ability to make everyone around him feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. With this natural talent, he was able to provide security services for a living, a career that suited his protective and caring nature perfectly.
Casey had a renowned sense of humor that he used regularly to lighten the mood and bring joy to those around him. He could make us laugh until we cried, and his laughter was just as contagious as his jokes. He was one of the most honest, kind, and caring people you could ever meet, while also knowing exactly how to have a good time.
Casey had a love for fast cars and women that could rival any rock star. He was adventurous, fun-loving, and never afraid to be himself. He was also the kind of guy who believed that “the truth is out there.” He loved looking up at the stars, wondering what might be beyond what we can see, and believing there may be something unexplainable waiting to be discovered.
Above all, Casey had a strong connection to his family and would do anything for the people he loved. His family meant the world to him, and he cherished the time he spent with them. There was, however, one love that held a very special place in his heart: his cherished kitty, Edel, who was truly the love of his life and his constant companion.
Casey’s presence brought laughter, protection, warmth, and unforgettable memories to the lives of those who knew him. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we will carry his memory with us and remember the laughter, hugs, stories, and moments that made Casey so special. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Casey is survived by his mother, Joni Player; his sister, Lacey Dawn Hall (Ben); his niece, Alexis Star Pace; his nephew, Bentley Rex Pace; and many cousins whom he cherished dearly.
Casey was preceded in death by his father, Kim W. Player.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N St E, Salt Lake City, UT 84103.
