

Denice Capps Pope, 66, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. Denice was born on February 14, 1959 to Richard and Carol Ann Pierce (Capps) in Salt Lake City. She was a 1977 graduate of Oak Grove High School (San Jose, CA) and had a career at IBM before being medically retired.
Denice's life was a testament to faith and strength. Her strong will and resilience served her well as she faced ongoing health challenges throughout her life.
Denice was an avid lover of animals, cooking and doing crafts. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Denice was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Pierce and Carol Ann and Don Capps, her brother, Kent Capps, her grandparents and her beloved bird, Sunshine.
She is survived by her sister, Kimberly Ann Lillehaug (Al), her nieces, Amber Capps and Megan Urick and a nephew, Jason Dahlin plus several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2738 Filmore Street, Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:00am. A viewing will take place from 10:00am to 10:45am at the same location.
