Jason Edward Hankins, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family, on June 9, 2025, at the age of 49, after a courageous battle with stage 4 Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC).
Born on April 29, 1976, Jason lived a life marked by love, generosity, humor, and unwavering dedication to those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife Amanda, his cherished sons Jordan and Brody, his devoted parents Harry and Kathy Hankins, his brother Brad Hankins, and his sister Michelle Laws and her husband, Ryan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell and Virginia Bates and Carl and Dorothy Hankins.
Jason loved life’s simple joys. He could often be found golfing with his closest friends, manning the grill, and perfecting his signature smoked wings. Known as “the guy”—the lawn guy, the car guy, the anything guy—Jason was always the first to step up and lend a hand. He was the tech guy, the dedicated guy, the “step-up” guy who willingly took in children who needed someone to look up to and proudly called them his own.
He was also deeply dedicated to his work as the Director of Technology for Beans & Brews, where he made a lasting impact and leaves behind a deep void at the company. Jason was highly respected by his colleagues, not only for his skill and leadership but also for his kindness, humility, and unwavering willingness to help.
Jason had a rare gift for making everyone around him feel valued and seen. He was never negative, and his infectious humor could bring a smile through even the hardest moments. He lived for the little things and embraced them fully.
Jason leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unconditional love. His family and friends will forever remember the way he made life lighter and richer simply by being himself. He will be deeply missed.
A graveside service for Jason will be conducted on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary.
Following the service, friends and family are invited to join for a light luncheon at the Law’s home: 2942 South Connor Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
