Our sweet boy, John Lund Marshall, was born on November 18, 2005, and left this world Friday, March 17. Johnny was very tenderhearted and loving as well as goofy, hilarious, handsome, boujee and a genuine friend to all. He enjoyed history, fast cars, inappropriate music and giving his mom pets she did not want. As the baby in the family, he was loved dearly by his parents and siblings, as he was by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. He was a comedian even as a small child, and was always finding ways to make everyone laugh. Johnny loved adventure, especially in the outdoors, whether it was skiing the powdery slopes of the Wasatch Mountains or surfing by the black sands of Raglan, New Zealand. Johnny also loved spending time with his family at the Marshall cabin in the Uintas, where he hiked many hikes and accepted many crazy dares.
During his brief time on Earth he made many, many friends who will always remember him as a source of laughter and fun. He was a classic teenage boy who loved a little harmless mischief and was always the first to dive into anything that had the promise of a fun time. His family lovingly teased him for his obsession with his hair and shoes. He attended Bingham High School and then Valley High School, where he would have graduated in 2024. He had already had a couple of jobs, both involving cars, where he enjoyed both the work and the connections he made.
Most of all, he will be remembered for his tenderness and his sweet nature. He had an amazing smile that would brighten your day, no matter how it was going. He was the kind of boy who checked in on his mom when he was with his friends and was his father’s best buddy. His sisters remember him as their first baby, and all his siblings remember him as their best friend. He was an older brother figure to his nieces and nephews and a foster grandchild to his neighbors, the Johnsons.
Johnny was so dearly loved. The hole he leaves in the lives of those who loved him will never be filled. In keeping with his generous and kind nature, Johnny insisted that he become a donor should anything ever happen to him. It is a comfort to know that Johnny was able to donate his organs to at least three unknown recipients. It is our hope that, even though we are suffering, he will be able to save other families from a similar pain. He is survived by his parents, Nathan and Christine, and his siblings, Emily (Adam), Keighty (Phoenix), Rachel, and Seth (McKenzie), and five nieces and nephews, (Elizabeth, Lincoln, George, Charity, and Lukas). Johnny, our precious baby boy, we love you endlessly and will miss you every single day.
