Today, we gather with heavy hearts to remember someone who meant so much to our family.
He was a loving father and grandfather, a man who was present, who showed up, and who genuinely enjoyed spending time with the people he loved. He found happiness in the simple moments, whether it was spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them something new, helping someone, or simply enjoying a good laugh while watching comedy.
One thing that will always stay with us is how much he loved sharing his knowledge. He was always willing to help, to teach, and to give a little of himself to others. That was one of the beautiful things about him. He didn't keep what he knew to himself; he wanted others to learn and benefit from it.
I think one of the hardest parts of losing someone is realizing that it's not just the big moments we will miss. It's the everyday things. The conversations, the laughter, the little interactions, and the comfort of simply knowing someone is there. Those are the things that become priceless when someone is no longer with us.
As a grandfather, he created memories that his grandchildren will hopefully carry throughout their lives. He gave them his time, his attention, his knowledge, and a kind of love that they will always have a piece of.
We wish we had more time. More conversations, more laughs, more family moments, and more opportunities to tell him how much he meant to us. But although we cannot make more memories with him, we can hold on to the ones he gave us.
I believe that a person's life doesn't end with their last day here. It continues through the people they loved, the lessons they taught, the kindness they showed, and the memories they leave behind.
And that is how we will remember him. Through the love he gave, the knowledge he shared, the laughter he enjoyed, and the family that will continue to carry his memory.
We will miss him more than words can express, but we are grateful that we got to love him, learn from him, and call him family.
Rest peacefully, you will always have a place in our hearts
