

Dean was born in Virden, New Mexico on August 7, 1937. He was the youngest of six children born to Leslie and Evalina Payne. His family moved to Yuba City, California in 1948 and Dean helped the family with their chicken business. After graduating from high school, Dean moved to Chico, California to work and attend Chico State College. It was there that he met the love of his life, Bobbie. They were married in 1956 and later sealed in the Oakland, California Temple.
Dean worked for over 40 years in the retail grocery industry. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in multiple positions within the Church. He and Bobbie served in the Salt Lake Inner-City Mission. He will always be remembered for his service, kindness, quick wit, and sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife: Bobbie Leah Wall and four children: Wendy Dennehy (Kevin), Cynthia Grapov (Yuri), Angela Chamberlain, and Bradlee (Celene); as well as 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Warburton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am November 30, 2018 at the Garden Park 4th Ward Building, located at 5058 West South Dock St (10540 South) in South Jordan, Utah. Friends are invited to attend a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:45 am. Interment will be in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park South Valley, 13001 South 3600 West in Riverton, Utah.
