surrounded by her family on March 19, 2022.
She was the daughter of Edward and Barbara Marousek. She attended schools in the suburbs of
Chicago, then graduated from a nursing school associated with Northwestern University.
She married Dr. Don S. Snyder in 1961 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They had
six children and later divorced after 27 years; they remained friends.
She worked at Cottonwood Hospital for 41 years. She loved volunteering for many different
organizations and through this was able to meet many people who would become her life-long
friends. She was part of the Civil Air Patrol for over 25 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel. She
volunteered for the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympic Games. She also volunteered at the Sandy
Amphitheater and Sandy Arts Guild for a number of years. She was a collector, loved to take
photos, ran 2 marathons, made 13 skydives and enjoyed painting.
Most dear to her was her family, and she loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her children Tim (Trude), Gretchen Hillman (Blair), Dan (Deborah), Matt
(Marnie), Heidi Weeks (Andy), and nephew Jay Caldwell (Vicki); 20 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Elaine, her daughter Amy
Tacey (Dennis), and ex-husband, Don.
The family will greet friends and family from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Mesa Park
Ward building at 1970 Viscounti Dr., Sandy, Utah, and before the services from 9:30 to 10:30
a.m. the following day. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Mesa
Park Ward Chapel.
Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery will follow the services.
