Melva Liquidano Bran

With deep love and sorrow, the Bran family announces the passing of Melva Bran—an exemplary mother, a woman of faith, and a generous heart—who departed this life on September 2 at the age of 92, surrounded by the love of her family.

Melva was born on September 14, 1932, in Nuevo Progreso, San Marcos, Guatemala. She was much more than a mother—she was a pillar of strength, a source of tenderness, and a constant guide to her family. Throughout her life, she worked as a seamstress, hairstylist, and homemaker. She was a hardworking, creative, and dedicated woman with a generous soul who found joy in life’s simple pleasures: walking outdoors, planting and tending gardens, caring for her plants, watching telenovelas, painting, embroidering, making ceramics, and most of all, being surrounded by her grandchildren, whom she cared for with tireless love.

Melva was a woman of many virtues, especially in the way she loved and cared for her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a caring sister. Her life was an example of generosity, patience, and service. It was marked by selfless giving, unconditional love, and unwavering faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ, which she held onto until the end of her days.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Melva lived with the assurance that families can be eternal. Her testimony and example have left an indelible mark on the lives of her children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who knew her.

She is survived by her children—her pride and greatest treasure—Níger and Abdielina Ibarra, Lourdes, Gabriel, Rosi, Jacqueline, Jerson, Claudia, and Héctor Bran, and Carlos Valenzuela; as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and her siblings Edna, Doris, Miguel, and Manuel. She is preceded in death by her husband Héctor Rodolfo Bran; her parents Manuel Liquidano and Clara Marina Ochoa; her eldest daughter Unise; granddaughter Adrienne; and siblings Raúl, Blanca, Betty, and Clara Luz.

The family sincerely thanks everyone for their expressions of love, prayers, and support during this time of mourning.

Funeral services will be held on September 11 at the chapel in the South Hills Ward, 5017 W Grand View Peak Dr., Riverton. Viewing from 11 AM to 1 PM, Funeral service meeting starting at 1 PM. Following the service, the funeral procession and dedication of the grave will take place at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 13001 S 3600 W, Riverton, which will be conducted by her son Gabriel Bran.

Melva Bran leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and service. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts.

Con profundo amor y pesar, la familia Bran informa el fallecimiento de Melva Bran, una madre ejemplar, mujer de fe y corazón generoso, quien partió de esta vida el 2 de Septiembre a la edad de 92 años rodeada del amor de su familia.

Melva nació el 14 de Septiembre de 1932 en Nuevo Progreso, San Marcos, Guatemala. Melva fué mucho más que una madre: fué un pilar de fortaleza, una fuente de ternura y una guía constante para su familia. A lo largo de su vida se desempeñó como costurera, estilista, y ama de casa. Fue una mujer trabajadora, creativa y dedicada, con un alma generosa que encontró alegría en las cosas simples: caminar al aire libre, plantar y cuidar huertas, y cuidar de sus plantas, ver telenovelas, pintar, bordar, hacer cerámica, y sobretodo, estar rodeada de sus nietos, a quienes cuidó con amor incansable. Melva fué una mujer de muchas virtudes, especialmente en la manera que amó y cuidó a su familia. Fue una esposa abnegada, madre y hermana amorosa. Su vida fué un ejemplo de generosidad, paciencia y servicio. Su vida estuvo marcada por el servicio desinteresado, el amor incondicional y una fe firme en el evangelio de Jesucristo, que sostuvo hasta el final de sus días.

Como miembro de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, Melva vivió con la certeza de que las familias pueden ser eternas. Su testimonio y ejemplo han dejado una huella imborrable en la vida de sus hijos, nietos, familiares y todos los que la conocieron.

Le sobreviven sus hijos quienes fueron su orgullo y mayor tesoro, Níger y Abdielina Ibarra, Lourdes, Gabriel, Rosi, Jacqueline, Jerson, Claudia, y Héctor Bran, y Carlos Valenzuela; nietos, bisnietos, y tataranietos, y hermanos Edna, Doris, Miguel y Manuel. Le preceden su esposo Hector Rodolfo Bran, sus padres Manuel Liquidano y Clara Marina Ochoa, hija mayor Unise, nieta Adrienne, y hermanos Raúl, Blanca, Betty y Clara Luz.

La familia agradece sinceramente las muestras de cariño, oraciones y apoyo en este momento de duelo.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo el 11 de Septiembre en la Capilla de el barrio South Hills 5017 W Grand View Peak Dr. Riverton. Velorio de las 11 AM a la 1 PM. Servicio funerario empezando a la 1 PM. Posteriormente, se procederá al cortejo fúnebre y la dedicación de la tumba en Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park 13001 S 3600 W Riverton, la cual será realizada por su hijo Gabriel Bran.

Melva Bran deja un legado de fe, amor y servicio. Su memoria vivirá por siempre en nuestros corazones.
