Michael was born September 8th 1980, in Salt Lake City Utah, to Wendy (Facer) Ortega and Harold Ortega.
He was the oldest of three children and will forever be his dads baby boy.
One could always look to Michael for encouragement and inspiration. He would always truly listen and strive to understand you. He practiced forgiveness and open-mindedness. Michael had a philosophical mind and loved getting into long deep conversations. He loved socializing and was always up for anything. He didn’t like staying in one place too long. He was always looking for the next new experience.
Artistic talent seeped into every part of his life. From drawing, to poetry, to fashion everything was an opportunity for self-expression. To him life is a song and it was his job was to translate the world into lyrical verse.
He was a deeply spiritual person. God was a huge part of his life, and he loved to study all the different religions of the world. In 2001 when he was 21, he was baptized in the LDS church. A year later he held the Melchizedek priesthood and baptized his Father Harold.
He will be missed for his laughter.
Michael is survived by his parents, Wendy and Harold; his Sister, Amanda (Zachary) Ortega; his Brother, James (Brittany) Ortega; and his Nieces: Gianna, Kara, and Ryann.
