On October 30, 2023, Myrna Fay Lauritzen Sluga, our beloved mother, grandma, nana, sister, aunt and friend returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father and those waiting there. Fay was born on June 4, 1933 in Victor, Idaho. She married Max Eli Sluga on September 16, 1965. They were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on September 16, 1981.
Fay graduated from Teton High School in 1950. While in High School, she played the saxophone and was president of the Pep Band. She played Softball and Basketball and was given the nickname of Cricket.
As an adult, she worked as a Secretary for Granite School District in the purchasing department. She also worked as executive secretary for LDS Social Services, which she loved.
Fay’s greatest joy was her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She made holidays so much fun. She taught her children and grandchildren to love nature and the outdoors. She always made life an adventure.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in all auxiliaries. Fay served as a temple worker, which was very special to her. She had a strong testimony and loved the gospel deeply.
Fay is survived by her 2 children, Lauri (Lowell) Smith and Daniel Max (Andrea) Sluga. 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. 2 brothers, Jack Lauritzen and Philip Lauritzen. And her beloved dog, Cricket.
Our family would like to thank the caring staff at Spring Gardens of Heber and her loving hospice staff for all of their wonderful care.
