With profound love and unwavering faith in God’s eternal plan, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Sallie Ann Worrell Radford Swinton, who peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on July 5, 2026, at her home in Spanish Fork, Utah, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 91 years old.
Sallie was born on March 6, 1935, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, to William Rudolph Worrell and Essie Ann Howell.
She was the devoted wife of Lawrence Robert Swinton Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, faith, and partnership. Together they built a home where family always came first, faith was the foundation, and everyone who entered was welcomed with open arms. Their enduring love and example continue to bless generations of their family.
A homemaker by heart, Sallie devoted her life to caring for those she loved. Her greatest joy was found in the everyday moments spent with family. She loved gathering everyone around the table to play board games, work puzzles, color beautiful pictures, and especially enjoy her favorite game, Penny Drop, where laughter and friendly competition created treasured memories. She also loved watching game shows and was often quick to answer the questions before the contestants could.
Sallie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found great joy in serving the Lord through the many callings she fulfilled throughout her life. She quietly shared her testimony through acts of love, compassion, and service. Her faith was reflected not only in what she believed, but in how she lived. She taught those around her that true discipleship is found in humility, kindness, forgiveness, and selfless service.
To know Sallie was to know unconditional love. She never sought recognition for the countless sacrifices she made for her family. She gave freely of herself, offering comfort, encouragement, wisdom, and strength whenever it was needed. She had a remarkable gift for making every person feel welcomed, valued, and deeply loved. Her home was more than a house—it was a place of refuge, laughter, comfort, and belonging.
Sallie is survived by her children: Mary Ann Radford Miller (Duane), W. Gerald “Gerry” Radford, Lawrence “Larry” Robert Swinton Jr. (Carol), Loran Dale Swinton (Kristie), and Christel Lee Swinton Andujar (Jose Chevere Agosto); 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and countless others whose lives were forever blessed by her kindness and love.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Lawrence Robert Swinton Sr.; her cherished daughter, S. Denise Swinton Gallimore; her only brother, L.F. “Roy” Howell, and his beloved wife, C. Jean Howell; and her precious great-granddaughter, Sage Jennifer Swinton.
Although her family grieves her absence, they find peace in knowing that she has been joyfully reunited with her husband, daughter, parents, brother, sister-in-law, and many loved ones who welcomed her home. Most of all, they rejoice in the knowledge that she now rests in the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Through His Atonement and Resurrection, her family knows this is not the end. They look forward with faith to the glorious day when they will embrace her again.
Sallie’s greatest accomplishment was never measured by possessions or titles but by the family she nurtured, the faith she lived, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy will continue to live on in every lesson she taught, every act of kindness she inspired, every family tradition she created, and every life she touched.
If you were fortunate enough to know Sallie, you knew what unconditional love looked like. Her hands were rarely still, her heart was always open, and there was always room at her table for one more game, one more conversation, one more laugh, and one more person to love.
“When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”
