Olin Carter Robinson

Born on February 7, 1931 in Alleghany County, Virginia, he was the oldest son of Ira Clark Robinson and Mary Madelene Carter Robinson, who instilled in him values that would guide his journey through life.

Robbie's early years were marked by his unique distinction as the only male graduate of Boiling Springs High School class of 1950. Following his education, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy, an experience that nurtured his deep sense of duty and commitment to helping others.

A man of exceptional skill and dedication, Robbie embarked on a long and fulfilling career with Piedmont Airlines, which later became USAirways. As a stockroom foreman, he was known for his meticulous attention to detail, servant leadership and unwavering work ethic. After dedicating many years to the airline, he retired with a legacy of excellence and respect.

Robbie's life was enriched by his hobbies, which included farming, fishing, camping, photography, and a love for bluegrass music. He was a true do-it-yourself enthusiast, renowned for his ability to fix almost anything with his own hands. These hobbies fulfilled him and provided him with opportunities to help others.

Known for his sense of humor, Robbie had a remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with almost anyone he met. His warm smile and twinkling blue eyes left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.

Robbie was predeceased by parents Ira Clark and Mary Madalene Robinson as well as his sister, Mary Catherine Feather.

Robbie is survived by his former wife, Mary Humphries Robinson and beloved daughters: Twila Aksamit (Steven), Melinda Wall, Sandra Wiles, and Amy Stone (William), his grandchildren, Summer Roberts (Brandon), Anthony Sides, Justin Wall (Lisa), and Dylan Zuker, as well as his great-grandchildren, Preston and Jada Roberts, Josiah Sides, John Lahee, Ava Wall, Olivia Wall, Natalee Wall, Zoyee Thompson, Landan Thompson and Kayla Kicklighter.

He is also survived by his siblings, Jerene Arrington, Leo Robinson (Betty), Marvin Robinson (Mary) and Glenna Dickens.

Robbie's life was a testament to kindness, humor, and resilience. He touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Family visitation will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Roanoke, Virginia on Saturday, August 29th at 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm and graveside service at 2:00 pm at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
