Paul Franklin Roush, 90, of Daleville, Virginia, died peacefully at home on October 24, 2025. He was born June 29, 1935, in New Haven, West Virginia, to Robert Douglas Roush and Chloris Chapman Roush. After graduating from high school, he began a 42-year career with Appalachian Power Company and retired in 1996. He spent his remaining years enjoying family and friends, watching West Virginia football and Duke basketball, and spending time outdoors golfing, gardening, and hunting. His deep faith, strong moral compass, and generous spirit guided his life and serve as an inspiration to his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 71 years, Loretta, whom he lovingly called “Peachie”, their children Cindi Perry (Jim), Mark Roush (Pamela), Greg Roush (Diane), and Lori Peal (Chip); grandchildren James Perry, Griffin Lamie, Carter Roush (Brittany), Kristin Perry, Evan Roush, Parker Roush, Spencer Roush, Matthew Peal, and Ashley Peal; and great granddaughter Margot Rose Roush. He is also survived by his sisters Jacqueline Athey and Mary McCoy and brothers David Roush (Carol) and Robert Roush (Karla).
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 8115 Williamson Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers or other kindnesses, memorial contributions be made to St. Philip Lutheran Church.
