Becky Simpson

“Becky” Thomas Simpson, 68, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center in Tarboro. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Gold Point Church of Christ with Chris Minton officiating; burial will follow at Robersonville Cemetery.

Becky was born in Martin County on October 8, 1945, daughter of the late George and Laura Matthews Thomas. She was a homemaker and farmer. In 2003 she received the “Woman of the Year Award” for the outstanding woman in agriculture from the Martin County Extension and Community Association. She was a former member of the Robersonville Rescue Squad and a member of the Gold Point Church of Christ since 1972.

On February 3, 1962 she married Joseph “Joe Boy” Simpson. Survivors in addition to her husband are a son Ricky Simpson and wife Jane of Robersonville and 2 grandchildren Lindsey and Sydney Simpson both of Robersonville.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-8:30 PM at Gold Point Church of Christ and other times at the residence 1888 Robert Everett Rd.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Gold Point Church of Christ.
