Dorothy Bland Nelson

Dorothy Bland Nelson, 76, died Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Martin General Hospital. The funeral service will be held Saturday at11:00 AM at the Biggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Dallas Gurganus officiating; burial will follow at Robersonville Cemetery.

Mrs Nelson was born March 5, 1938 in Martin County. She was the daughter of the late Ruben F. Bland and Ella Gray Brown. She was retired from a food service business where she worked as the Manager. Dorothy was a member of the Grace Family Fellowship Church.

On September 4, 1956 she married Burlie Nelson Jr who survives. Survivors in addition to her husband are a son Ricky Nelson and wife Amanda of Winterville, daughters Cathy Bullock and husband Frankie of Williamston, and Judy Bullock and husband Robert of Salisbury MD, sisters Pat Cole of Wendell, and Lynette Taylor of Woodbridge VA, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30-8:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville and other times at the residence 111 E Purvis St.
