Marjorie Ford Nelson

Marjorie Ford Nelson, 90, died Sunday May 1, 2016 at Martin General Hospital. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church with Rev Ron Elkins officiating; burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.

Mrs Nelson was born in Pitt County on February 25, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Will and Edna Jenkins Ford. She was retired from the town of Robersonville where she worked for several years as the Librarian. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years John Edgar Nelson on June 4, 2015. A brother Wilbur Ford, and sisters Margaret Simpson, Thelma Malloy, Elsie Andrews, Frances Ford and Hazel Ford also preceded her in death.

Survivors are a son John H Nelson and wife Pat of Robersonville, Grandson John L Nelson and wife Melody of Hassell, granddaughter Sara Jo Johnston and husband Stewart of Surf City, great grandchildren MaryElla, Hadley, and Mattie Nelson, Jackson and Weston Johnston, brother Ralph Ford of Ayden and sister Dolores

Ford of Greenville.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 PM Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church and other times at the residence 107 Dogwood Ave Robersonville.
