Rachel Coltrain

Rachel Harrison Coltrain, 88, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel in Robersonville with Rev Brooks Wadsworth and Rev Delmus Ayers officiating;Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.

Mrs Coltrain was born in Martin County on May 8, 1924, daughter of the late William Roy and Lavinia Cowin Harrison. She was retired from Robersonville Library where she worked with BHM. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church. Her husband Simon Coltrain, a sister Vader Hodges and a brother Ben Harrison preceded her in death.

On February 26, 1943 she married Simon Coltrain who died May 25, 1987. She is survived by daughters Brenda Rose and husband Vernon of Arapahoe, Nancy Fenske and husband Charlie of Louisburg, and Anita House and husband Jimmy of Bethel, sister Becky Boyd and husband Linny of Williamston, grandchildren Gina Oakley and husband Jeff, Jason Rose and wife Patricia, Joshua Rose and wife Rebecca, Lucas Fenske, Sarah Fenske, and Jim House and seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville and other times at the residence 702 N Grimes St. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Robersonville.
