
Wayne Bowen, 78, died Wednesday March 11, 2015 at his home, The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Christian Chapel Church of Christ with Kurt Honican and Russell Mann officiating; burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.
Wayne was the son of the late Joseph Dee and Fannie Coltrain Bowen. He was born in Martin County on October 21, 1936. He was a longtime member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ where he served as a past deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of the Beaver Dam Hunt Club. Wayne loved to hunt.
In June of 1958 he married Joyce Ayers Bowen who preceded him in death on January 19, 2012. His parents, and a brother Brian Bowen and a grandson Stacy Bowen Jr also preceded him in death.
He is survived by a daughter Valerie Glisson and husband Clay of Springfield Tenn. Sons Richard Bowen and wife Janet of Robersonville, and Stacy Bowen and wife Sharron of Springfield Tenn, , brothers Joseph Dee Bowen of Williamston, Rodney Bowen of Jamesville, and sisters Elaine Taylor and Janie Cannon both of Williamston, grandchildren Travis Glisson, Tera Fraine, Tiffany Bowen, Ric Bowen, Brittney Bowen, and Meg Fritch, 9 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8:00 PM at the church fellowship hall and other times at the residence 3562 Wynn Road, Robersonville NC.
