Rita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She married, Jose Juan Godina Sr. As a homemaker, Rita dedicated her life to caring for her family, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with comfort, laughter, and delicious meals.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Rita loved gardening, cooking, and sewing, often spending her time tending to her flowers—especially her beloved pink and yellow roses—or creating handmade blankets for her loved ones. She took pride in keeping her yard beautiful and was rarely without a project that showed her care and attention.
Rita will be remembered for her dry sense of humor and her incredible cooking. Her carne guisada and warm, fluffy tortillas were favorites among family and friends, bringing everyone together around the table.
She was preceded in death by Josefina Soria Aleman, Juanita Sanchez, Manuel Sanchez, Adelina Sanchez, and Ana Sanchez.
Rita is lovingly remembered by her children: San Juana Salazar, Jose Juan Godina Jr., Enrique Godina, and Diana Godina. She is also survived by her siblings Juan Sanchez, Victor Sanchez, Angie Sanchez, and Alicia Bryant, as well as numerous cherished grandchildren who brought her immense pride and joy.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the neighborhood friends who showed constant kindness and to the compassionate nurses at Spohn Christus Hospital for their care and support.
Rita Godina’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
