Marie A. Jeske

Visitation is 4-7 PM Wednesday, October 5, at the Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Funeral mass will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island, IL. Marie was born June 6, 1935 in Minocqua, WI to George & Florence (Gregory) Handrick. She was united in marriage to Frederick K. Jeske on December 26, 1960 in Minocqua, WI. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2009. Marie was a business teacher for many years at Davenport Central High School and Davenport North High school from where she retired. She also taught part time at Black Hawk College in Moline and had served on the board of education for Sacred Heart School and Alleman High School.

She was member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Rock Island, the Davenport Educational Association as well as the state & national associations, and the Red Hat Club.

Survivors include her children & spouses Lynn & William McArthur, Marion, IA, Mark & Kathryn Jeske, Roselle, IL, and Dean & Indre Jeske, Glen Ellyn, IL; grandchildren & spouses Eric (Shanna), Melissa (Josh), Sarah (Josh), Amanda, Kara, Matthew, Alex, & Peter; great grandson Caleb; 3 sisters Betty, Arlene, & Florence; brother Glenn; and 2 sister-in-laws Micki & Jan.
