Stanley Joe Kimmins

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, February 1, at Olivet Baptist Church, 1115 21st Ave., Rock Island. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the church. Interment will follow at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Stanley was born on September 8, 1949 in Perks, Illinois, a son of Joe and Lillian (Williams) Kimmins. He worked in refuse collection for over 25 years, including the former Watts Disposal Systems in Rock Island. Stanley enjoyed working on cars – full size and model, telling jokes, playing pool, and listening to the oldies.

He is survived by his father, Joe Kimmins, Rock Island; loving companion, Barbara Bailey, Davenport; children, Lisa Kimmins, Davenport, Shelly (Floyd) Smith, Houston, TX, Stephanie Kimmins and Syvetta Oliver, both of Davenport, Synnetta (Tony) Jones, Indianapolis, IN, Seretha (Lamar) Quinn, Davenport, Shakayla Jackson, Danville, IL, Joe (Lecesha) Oliver, Davenport, Shawn (Lillian) Powell, West Point, MS, Stephon Golden and Stanley Golden, Rock Island, Stanley Joe Kimmins, Jr., East Moline, Justin Kimmins, Silvis; stepchildren, Jason Collins, Davenport, Kelly England-Shelton, Rock Island; sisters, Shelva Kimmins and Wilma (Joe) Arrington, both of Rock Island, Ruthie Kimmins, California; Kermevia White, Davenport; brothers, Glen Kimmins, Minnesota, Thomas Cole, Davenport; 24 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kimmins was preceded in death by his mother, a brother, Ronald Kimmins, and daughter, Gina Kimmins.
