

Maura grew up in Rockland, graduating from Rockland High School in 1986. She received her education degree from UMass Amherst in 1990. Maura spent nearly 30 years in various roles in early education, providing pre-school services for members of the Chinatown community.
Maura had an extremely close group of friends, going back to her high school and college days. These friends, who rallied around Maura during her illness, were an enormous source of comfort to Maura’s family as they recounted stories of her travels and college adventures. Maura’s friends were essential to her life and happiness.
Maura was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Flynn, and her sister Kathleen Flynn. She leaves behind her sister Anne Marie (Flynn) Bennett and her husband Bill, her brother John Flynn and his wife Christie, her nephews Jack Flynn and Matthew Bennett and his wife Katie Bennett, and nieces Emma and Leah Flynn. Maura remained close to her cousins William Flynn, David Flynn, Mary Clare Cushing, Robert and Kevin Flynn, and their children.
A wake will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3 at Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water Street, Rockland. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 4 at Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland. Burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
