With heavy hearts, we share that that Albert “Larry” Gulledge - a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend - went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 23, 2025, at the age of 82.
Larry was born on June 3, 1943 in Long Beach, California, where he grew up alongside his family and older brother, Carl. He later moved to northern California where he met his wife of 54 years, Carolyn “Susie” Visnich. Together, they built a life rich in family, friendship, and adventure.
Larry began his career in Santa Clara County, CA as a real estate broker, but his true passion was building homes. In 1979, he moved his family to Melbourne, Fl where he fulfilled his dream of becoming a General Contractor. He founded Western Style Homes, which later became Classic Homes by Larry Gulledge. For more than 30 years Larry poured his heart into crafting custom home throughout Melbourne, Viera and Rockledge – homes that became the foundation of countless families. His work was more than construction—it was a craft of care, creativity, and connection. Each home he designed carried the fingerprints of his passion and the dreams of those he served.
Larry was well loved throughout the community, known not only for his craftsmanship but for his warmth, and genuine care for his clients. His legacy lives on in the homes he built and the lives he touched.
He found joy in the Florida sun, spending time outdoors golfing, fishing, and scuba diving. Above all, Larry cherished his family. He is survived by his wife Susie, his brother, Carl (Sondra) Gulledge, his daughters, Stacey Petruna and Leah (Paul) Carpenter, his grandchildren, Jordyn, Eliana, Lexi, and Mason; his great-grandchildren Brynlie and Coltin; and countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Gulledge and his mother Evelyn Schnorr.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where we will gather to honor his memory, share stories, and reflect on the amazing life Larry lived.
