He was born on July 12, 1937 in Lumberton, NC. He served in the United States Army in South Korea. He retired from Melbourne Post Office after 46 years and 8 days.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years; Lorene Pafford Powers; son Al (Tanya), daughter, Tina Parker; three step children, Steve, Greg, and David Proctor; and Libby Morey. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a sister; Geraldine Ellingwood, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 1-2pm with a service to follow at 2pm. Interment will be in Florida Memorial Gardens.
