We would like to say Amen to Bob Hutchings and Alison Fraser who left notes in this guestbook. As young people, we, too, were impacted and shaped by Pastor Larson's dynamic pulpit ministry in Ottawa at The Met.  There are times when we still refer to something he said, even today in our 70s. We remember you, Tim and Sharon, and pray God's comfort though it's been a while now.

Dear Mrs Larson, Lori, Tim and Sharon, 

I have just learned of the passing of your husband and father, and am thinking of you and praying for you during these  days.

My father drove my mother, four sisters and me from Newcastle to Oshawa during the 70's to Calvary Baptist Church for the good teaching, while Pastor Larson was ministering there. 

I remember how easy it was to follow the sermons because of the overhead notes that I copied.  Perhaps I never looked back at the notes, but somehow the memory of the lessons came back through the week to be applied. I also learned a lot about how to study my Bible, for which I'm very thankful.

May Jesus' words to his disciples in John 14 be a comfort to you, as you miss your loved one.













     The news of Art's passing, as sad as it is, brings back the sweet memory of us singing in a teenage gospel quartette in the mid 50's. Art was two years older than I, and had recently graduated from Ferndale High School, a borough of Johnstown, PA when we met. I had just received Christ a few months before, and we, along with Scott McClintock and Bill Rubish, formed The Testimoniers. We traveled over quite an area of PA singing and giving our testimonies at first, and then later, occasionally, one of us would also preach. Wanda was our accompanist at the piano during that whole time. Art sang lead, I, bass, Scott, tenor, and Bill, baritone. Someone reading this may remember those days of revival among young people in Johnstown, and the little part our quartette played in it. John Gavazzoni

Dear Wanda....we are just hearing about Art going to Heaven. My daddy passed in March of 2020.  That must be a good month to go to Glory. What a Blessing his life was to us & those @ Grace.  I know he will be missed greatly. He married our Leah & Onan. & my parents were so impressed w his kind heart. I loved to hear him sing too! While I do extend my deepest sympathy to you at the passing of Art, I celebrate at this news I received today because Art is now in the presence and glory of the Savior he so faithfully served for so many years. He had a great impact on my life during my time serving with the Messengers in  Global Outreach. I will never forget his love for his God, for people and his wonderful sense of humor.

Ship ahoy. I remember as a teenager at the Met and a young Christian, this song often song by Pastor Larsen. I still can see him preaching thru galatians the notes of which I still have. As my first pastor he made a wonderful impact on my life. How I missed him when he left and over the years.

Dear Wanda and Family,

Please accept our condolences on behalf of Independent Bible Church in Martinsburg, WV, where Pastor Larson was Senior Pastor in 1986-1987. We are praying for God's comfort for you.

Art was a dear brother and fine preacher of God's Word. When I came to IBC in 1988, I heard many testimonies of the impact of his ministry in the Word and of the music ministry of both of you as well. When you all came back later and Art preached for an Anniversary Weekend, I truly enjoyed his fellowship, encouraging spirit, and Biblical preaching. 

Many in our church still remember him and appreciate his ministry. Only eternity will reveal the full impact of lives transformed. I'm confident that Art has heard his Lord's "Well done, good and faithful servant."

My heartfelt condolences to Pastor Larson’s family. I hold sweet and fond memories of your family from the Met years. Sharon, we were usually in the same Sunday School class. That’s a long time ago. A  wonderful testament to your Dad’s love for people and ministry. No one could ever have a better smile than his or make everyone feel so welcome. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. 

Dearest Wanda, Our hearts goes out to you and your time of deep sorrow and tears.  Oh the wonderful memories we have of a friendship with you all from Hagerstown Bible, Central Manor, to IBC and correspondence over all these years.  What a wonderful preacher of the gospel Art was and faithful to the end.  Then to wake up in glory and seeing the face of the One he loved and served til his last breath.  
My tears real, but my smile when I think of your privileged husband being finally Home.

As a teenager moving to Oshawa, Ontario in 1974 I was encouraged and challenged by Pastor Larson’s preaching ministry. We use to lovingly refer to him as Larson the Parson. He was a blessing to our whole family. Sympathy to Lori, Tim, and Sharon.
