Nita was born in the Philippines on August 15, 1931. Driven to succeed, Nita earned the Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of the East April 10, 1960. As a high achiever, Nita passed her Board of Accountancy as Certified Public Accountant on December 4, 1964. While honing her professional skills at Nissho Iwai Corporation, Makati City, Philippines, Nita applied and was approved for permanent resident visas to immigrate the family to the United States. Arriving in San Francisco, California on June 21, 1971, Nita embarked on her journey to fulfill her American Dream. A proven performer, she rejoined the Nissho Iwai Corporation local office, while being recruited by the former Pacific Telephone and Telegraph (PT&T) to San Francisco, California. Through career progression, she transferred to the expanding PT&T operations and relocated to Pleasanton, California. In pursuit of challenging opportunities, Nita was offered to form the newly consolidated American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) in the regional hub of Atlanta, Georgia. Culminating her AT&T career in 1993, Nita elected to build and move to their retirement home in Suntree, Florida.
During her golden years, Nita and Johnny/Cio, were both involved in Ascension Catholic Church, Filipino American Club, and neighborhood community area activities. Together they continued their domestic and international travels celebrating family gatherings with grandchildren. They enjoyed taking cruises around the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Their major trips as couple or with family members were in multiple European countries, Canadian provinces, and Southeast Asian nations.
As a widow, after caring for her late husband through his terminal illness, Nita stayed active in the spirit of family relations and religious connections. Nita solely traveled to visit her aging siblings, relatives, and family friends across the Philippines, then later ventured to the Holy Land. Thereafter her memory began to fail and gradually worsened.
Although inflicted with vascular dementia, Nita persevered over 10 years of memory decline while participating in social interactions at the Joe’s Club Adult Day Health Care. Then, in 2022, Nita entered full dementia care at former Inspiritas of West Melbourne, now Your Life.
