She was a retired electronics assembler for the National Security Agency.
Bernita was born on May 30, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pa. While married to Andrew Kosalko for nearly 66 years, she lived in places around the country such as Hawaii, California, New England, Maryland and Florida.
She is survived by her son, Alan Kosalko of Gulfport, Miss.; son-in-law, Robert Day of Overland Park, Kan.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Robbie and Marie Day of Hunstville, Ala., Kimberly and Richard Benthusen of Naples, Fla., Christine and John Yerkes of Overland Park, Kan., Marnie and Corey Schubert of Gilbert, Ariz., and Katie Kosalko of Atlanta; and seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Bernita was preceded in death by her daughter, Eileen Day of Overland Park, and her husband Andrew.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 with visitation at 1 p.m. and a ceremony at 2 p.m., in the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South U.S. Highway 1 in Rockledge, Fla.
