

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sherryl; children Susan Huseonica, David Huseonica (Mary), Patti Solnay (Jim), and William Huseonica (Dana); stepchildren Carmel Scharenbroich (Mike), Paula Puglisi, Ralph Puglisi (Karen), Vinnie Puglisi (Gigi); and grandchildren Chris Huseonica, Michelle Drake (Cameron), Leanne Huseonica, Amanda Huseonica, Tyler Solnay (Juli), Helena Huseonica, Olivia Huseonica, and Calvin Huseonica. In addition, he is survived by half-brother Art Huseonica (Karen) and half-sister Linda Pina (Nick), and several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Butler, PA on November 22, 1936. He moved to Cleveland, OH to attend Baldwin-Wallace College (bachelor’s degree in physics) and to work as a wind-tunnel technician at Lewis Research Facility for NACA. He married Carolyn “Cal” Sink in 1956 just prior to moving to Cleveland.
In 1963, he continued his aerospace career with NASA at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Florida’s Space Coast. He was involved in over 60 launches of Atlas Centaur, Titan Centaur and Delta rockets. Bill was selected to be a member of the U.S. government Senior Executive Service. He retired from NASA in 1984. He continued working in the aerospace management field for Pan Am World Services, Johnson Geneva Corp. and Johnson Controls. He married Sherryl Paternoster Puglisi in 1987.
He moved to Slidell, LA to be project manager for the Stennis Space Center, MS, base support contract with NASA in 1988. Next, Bill was asked to rejoin NASA as the Director of the Science and Technology Lab also at Stennis Space Center.
Following his second retirement from NASA, he continued working with government contractors, and ended his professional career as Johnson Controls World Services’ Vice President of the Space and Technology Business Sector in 2002.
Over the course of his career he continued his education, earning a master’s degree in mathematics, a master’s degree in business administration, and a doctorate in business administration.
As part of his retirement, Bill enjoyed traveling with his wife Sherryl in their RV, teaching as an adjunct professor for several universities at the graduate level, and living the country life on a 20-acre estate.
Before moving back to Melbourne last year, Bill and Sherryl lived in Sun City, AZ. They enjoyed exploring Arizona and hosting family and friends. They also had a summer home in Prescott Valley, AZ.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Sue Huseonica, his brother Joe Huseonica, his half-brother Bobby Huseonica, his son Tom Huseonica, and his grandson Justin Solnay.
A gathering of friends and family for Bill will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 1pm followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM at The Life Event Center at Florida Memorial (5950 S US 1 Rockledge, FL 32955)
