Billie Rhodes

May 14, 1928June 9, 2021

Billie Marylin Rhodes went to heaven on June 6, 2021, at 7:30 pm while residing at Brookdale Memory Care, Melbourne Florida.

Billie was born in Ripley WV, May 14, 1928, and was the loving wife of William E Rhodes Sr. (Bill), who passed away in 2007, and are now reunited in eternity.

In 1952, Bill and Billie, along with their two eldest sons came to Melbourne from Ft. Hood, Texas, Bill being discharged after returning from Korea, on vacation and never left. In 1953 they took proprietorship of a Service station on U.S.1 about two blocks south of New Heaven, then in 1959 began construction on a new Service Center on Babcock and Neiman, Rhodes & Sons. Billie was also Personnel Manager for the Belk-Lindsey Department Store on Babcock and then New Heaven at the Melbourne Mall from which she retired. They enjoyed the latter part of their years together travelling across America in their RV, and Billie kept a record of their journey together until 2007.

She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of South Brevard and remained active until her health began to deteriorate.

She will be missed by her family and friends until we meet again, because “…this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” 1 John 5:11

Billie is survived by sons, William (Dusty) Rhodes Jr., Raymond (Rusty) M. Rhodes, Charles M. Rhodes, Jeffrey A. Rhodes and Michael (Scott) Rhodes. Also, 22 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren.

Service will be help on Thursday, June 17th at the First Baptist Church of South Brevard, 4300 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne Florida. Phone 321-259-1723. (10:00 public viewing, 11:00 Service).

Dusty, Rusty, Marc, Jeff and Scott,

My heart is broken with you. Aunt Billie has been reunited with her loving Bill. She had a wonderful laugh that I will never forget. I know she is with God and all our family that has gone before her. My prayers are with all of you.

Love,
Cousin Lynn Turley Bell

It's with great heart felt emotion and love we write this memorial because of the great memories we have of the Bill and Billie Rhodes Family and First Baptist Church of South Brevard. We still have prayers and thoughts for you and pictures of the many events we were blessed with during the several years spent in the Melbourne area. We look forward to that final event when we are all together before the temple of the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb where is the pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne, where there is no need of sun or moon to shine for the Lord God is the light thereof.
