Carmen Rosa Alvarez

Carmen passed away peacefully on New Year's Day, 1/1/2022 at the age of 96. Carmen was pre-deceased by her loving parents, Ascension Alvarez and Segundo Lopez and seven other brothers and sisters. She also pre-deceased two of her sons, Miguel Angel Rios and Edelmiro Rios, and grandson Miquel Rios. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Gilberto Lopez and spouse Nilda, and her sister Emily Rivera. Beloved mother to Virginia Acosta Fleckner and son-in-law Harry Merlet. She was a doting Abuelita to grandchildren David Acosta and spouse Tammy, Diana Acosta Hosein and spouse Adel, Daniel Acosta and spouse Danielle, Raymond Rios, Evelyn Rios, Mercedes Rios, Ariel Rios, and Eddie Anthony Rios and spouse Krissy. She is also survived by 16 adoring Great- Grandchildren.

Carmen was a wonderfully talented cook, delighting family with culinary creations from her beloved Puerto Rico. She loved to travel and listen to music.

A visitation for Carmen will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 N Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, Florida 32935.

Carmen will be laid to rest in Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South US Hwy 1, Rockledge, Florida.
