

Carol A. Klinko of Viera, Florida, passed away on July 27, 2023, at the age of 74. Born to Mabel Straway in Kearny, New Jersey, in 1948. She graduated from Kearny High School in 1966 and married Robert "Bob" Klinko in 1969. They lived in Newark and Whiting, New Jersey, before moving to Viera, Florida, in 2008.
She worked as a cashier and at the customer service desk for Pathmark, and Shoprite, retiring from Bradlees Department Store in 1999 to take care of her husband.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Knights of Columbus, Council 6125, Rockledge, Florida, where she helped her husband, Bob, for many years working on the Tootsie Roll Drive, raising funds for an assortment of good causes. She had a passion for arts and crafts, with a focus on coloring and painting with many kinds of media. Carol collected angel statues and loved playing bingo. Known for never forgetting a name and being great at Trivia, she loved watching Wheel of Fortune and answering the Jeopardy questions quickly. She found it difficult to pass up a "good bargain" on QVC and HSN. Carol and Bob loved going to concerts. Their favorite places were the PNC/Garden State Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey, and the King Center in Melbourne, Florida.
Carol was predeceased in 2021 by her husband of 52 years, Robert. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Schiller, (Douglas); grandson, Ryan Schiller (Jenny); and granddaughter, Stephanie Shalala (Brenden).
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 4PM to 6PM at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida 32955. The funeral service will begin at 11AM on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Burial will follow at the Florida Memorial Gardens with a Celebration of Life gathering and refreshments at the Life Event Center.
