Carole was born April 20th, 1946 in Cullman, AL, to Joseph Alton and William Rose Thomas. Carole was well loved in her life by many, but met her one true love Donald L. Kane just after Memorial Day in 1987. They were married in 1992 in Carmel by the Sea, CA, on a cross country road trip. Together they lived between Brevard County, FL and Rutherford County, NC spending the last 5 years solely in Brevard County, FL
Carole was multi-talented, entrepreneurial and had exquisite taste. Carole was the ultimate in fashion and decor. In retirement, she took up both DNA based and traditional genealogy, helping many, many people connect their family trees, find their biological families, and her own family file had over 80,000 entries for family members.
She had an amazing sense of humor, and loved storytelling, laughing, research, travel, fashion, home decor, cooking, being a Southerner, and her family.

Cry Not For Me
When I shall die and
Leave behind this earth
I love,
These trees,
This sky,
The everpounding sea,
The yearly hope of spring
Cry not for me.
Rejoice!
My soul has wings and in its freedom
Sings
