He retired as a masonry contractor. Charles was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons; Roy (Pat) Hammonds and Jimmie Hammonds; his daughters, Patsy McConnell and Deborah Owl; thirteen grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Charles is preceded in death by his wife Gertrude and his daughter Dorothy Patterson.
A private interment took place at Florida Memorial Gardens.
