I used to sing this little ditty about Chip and it drove him nuts! "Stanley Stanley he's our man if you can't do it Stanley can! Yaaaay Stanley!"

I first met chip in seventh grade.. have many fond memories of Chip all through high school we were in ROTC together and many other activities… our senior year I was fortunate to be in a small group of people that hung out with Chip almost every Friday and Saturday night that whole senior  year… I have memories of riding around in the Volkswagen bug that Chip drove in high school… chip was a great guy if you did not know him he was very quiet and shy but once you got to know him he was a really funny guy… I know this Has to be a great loss to his family to pass  at such a young age hopefully he did not suffer…… Todd Whitaker Boone class of 1988

Melissa and family - I’m so sorry for your loss. He loved you all so much and was so happy to be a loving father and husband. You all completed his life. Chip will always be with you and near, always.

I’m so sorry for the loss of Chip.  He was a pillar in the community and was such a great influence on my son Dallas.  He will be sorely missed but will never be forgotten.  You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

We will all really miss Chip. He was a great father, coach and friend. I had the pleasure to coach with him over the last few years as he helped to build up the girls Vipers travel team.  It seems such a long time ago now and so much has changed so quickly. Sometimes I wish we could rewind and slow down to enjoy all the memories over again.  Melissa you and Chip raised a great family! Give them our love and let us know what we can do to help.

I will hold my memories close to my heart of volunteering with Chip on the sidelines. He had such a passion for the game but even more passion for his role as father. I witnessed him be a father, mentor and coach all wrapped up into one. He was such a natural at all of it. Melissa, Gavin, Bella and Kody-I know the void will be large and I can't even begin to understand why the really good ones have to leave us so soon sometimes, but I do know his profound love for all of you will never leave. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of a truly amazing lacrosse coach. 
I know as a husband he was always there for  Melissa and the kids. Chip was and awesome Husband and Father. 
Chip was one of the few that believed in a woman coach for guys lacrosse. 
Chip was also always there for my son Corbin, who now they play ball in the heavens. Without Chip, who helped mold my son, Corbin would have never had as much fun as he did. 
I never forgot when my son Connor was on the sidelines upset and chip went up and talked and cheated him up. 
Chip also coached with my son Colton. Colton played on recreation and also travel and chip would always be positive. (Especially that Colton was a goalie. Chip always made Colton feel like he was awesome.) 
Thanks for sharing your husband and Dad with the lacrosse teams.

For all the Wessel families: we were so saddened to hear about Chip’s passing.  Separated by distance, we did not have the opportunity to get to know Chip very well.  But what we know is  he was a wonderful husband, father, brother and person. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.  Uncle Terry, Aunts Eileen and Sandy from Kentucky.

I have worked with Chip and I consider him a friend. Our careers took similar paths but the brightest beacon that I ever received from Chip was his strong convictions and beliefs about what was most important in life. His family, his wife, and his kids are always his top priority and he always makes sure that he spent the time whenever it was available. I always think about Chip as an inspiration when I falter in these areas in my own life and he was an example to me in wanting to become a better father and husband. I know his kids knew just how big a priority they are to him. He may not continue with us physically but some of us continue to be inspired through our memory of him.

As hard as it was to hear about the loss of a great husband, father, cousin, and friend words can not describe the honor it was to have known Chip. I got to meet him later in life but it seemed as if we have always known each other. I will never forget the times I spent with him. He always had a genuine smile, a hug, and a joke to tell. I got to experience how amazing he was with the kids in the family and how he always strived to “be the better Tio”. I am saddened at the thought of my kids not knowing what an amazing man he was but I take comfort in knowing he will live on through the many stories we have to share. My heart breaks for his family but I know in my heart God will give them comfort and strength in this time. Even though he was taken too soon, he will live on through his beautiful family and all of us. Rest easy my brother. We love you.

I never got the chance to meet Chip personally, but I always seen through Melissa how much this man was loved. It breaks my heart that Melissa and her kids and Chip family are going through this. But I believe in this. Life is a race. A race that you run. You fall, you get hurt, you stumble. Yet we manage with the help of our Lord to get up and run this race call life. Chip ran and ran a good race and he won he actually made it to the finish line and now he can rest in our Lord arms. Melissa Prima your still running that race and your kids. Make Chip proud that no matter the stumble the pain the tiredness and how hard it may get, you will continue this race and get to your goal and that’s your finish line. To get there in victory just like Chip did. Love you Prima. I continually pray for you for the kids for Chip family and for our own. Know that the Lord will help you through this because your a fighter just like Chip. Love you. 

Melissa my heart is with you and the kids. The waves of grief are like the ocean... uncontrollably powerful. Some days the sets are huge and give us a major pounding. Other days the waves are glassy and smooth. Just know that I am here and sending you lots of love and strength.

Chip always had a smile that welcomed one as a friend. College was better with him .
He would always tease me about stuff and love to make me turn red when we sat at the table at UCF. Even thou I haven't kept in contact besides following FB posts I know he has been a great Father and example for all that have had the privilege of having Chip in his life.

One thing that makes me laugh is when he found out my middle name "Whitzel" he would try to bother me by saying whistle instead. Then I would call him by his other name beside Chip which he would be bothered so I wont say it now - hey we were college kids so dumb memories. 

We are saddened and deeply heart-broken upon hearing about Chip’s passing.  Chip always had a smile on his face… he was always working hard for the kids on the lacrosse field… Chip always took the time to chat and to answer questions no matter how much he had on his plate. He genuinely loved watching all of his children play lacrosse and was so, so proud of their achievements. I hope they will know how very, very much their dad loved them and how very proud he was of them.  Chip was an honest, friendly guy who welcomed all. He will be dearly missed. Our deepest sympathies are extended to Melissa and his children. You are in our prayers. 

My first memory of Chip was on our first day at Motorola on Nov 4th,1999, not knowing that latter on, Mel and I will became close friends while Jose and Chip will grow into their own close friendship. We have so many memories together …. engagements, weddings, baby showers, births, birthdays, graduations…. 21 years worth of memories… my favorite memory was watching Mr Bean with them trying to convince them he was the best comedian ever. Chip was like “NOT “! What I love most is his kind smile, his devotion to his family  and the way he makes us feel like family. I am thankful we were closer this past two years and we were able to cherish him. Hey bud, we love you to heaven and back 🙏

Chippy and I made empanadas side by side during a very memorable Florida Keys vacation. We cheered our boys on the lacrosse field countless times as he would always watch the games from afar. Chippy, you have stood out as a man of God, an excellent father and husband. We will one day make empanadas together again but until then, you will truly be missed. 

I was in the Army with Chip at Ft. Lewis,  WA. He was a gentle giant. One of the nicest guys that I served with, so I can only imagine how great of a husband and father he was. I'm very saddened that his life was cut short.  My prayers and condolences to his wife and family.  

Chip and I served in the Army together, he was a good friend and a brother. He will be missed.
