I first met Butch when Mike (moo) and I were dating.. 1980.  We were at the pool bar at the Holiday Inn Sattelite beach.. I'll never forget what a sweet gentleman he was then and in the years to come too.. was always happy to see him each time we came back to Satellite Beach .. so proud to know him and  Terry too!! Butch was one of a kind.  The best friend anybody could ask for.  I truly believe he touched everyone's heart that he met.  My mom just loved him.  God Bless you Terry.

I didn't meet Butch in High School. I met him at the Side Pocket Sports Bar. He was a cool guy, and the friendliest person I ever met. Always a smile. I know everyone that knew him liked him. He was the best!

I met Butch when I started working with him in 1992 and continued until his untimely retirement.   Through the years we have shared so many memories and stories with each other.   I heard all about his days at Satellite High and of his college days in Gainsville.  He was so descriptive with his stories that I feel like I know many of his closest friends.  Butch was the sweetest person with the biggest heart.  He was always there when you needed someone to talk to or when you just wanted someone to share a good laugh with.  Butch was such a giving person and was the first to step up when someone was in need.  I am and will always be proud to call you my dear friend.  I will miss you dearly.

Butch was one of the original "Satel-Baggers".He carpeted our entire house for less money with better quality and workmanship than anyone else could offer in this entire county. I've known Butch since 9th grade and we continued our friendship thru out the years. I started cutting his hair in my apartment in the 70's and kept it up thru the years. He was my go to guy when I needed someone to go to a party or wedding and I did the same for him. We had so much fun, plus his dad was pastor at my parents church. You will not find a nicer person or truer gentleman. I am so very saddened by his loss. Terry, please accept my deepest sympathy. I know this is a very difficult time for you. RIP, my dear friend. It feels strange to be writing a message about someone I grew up with.I spent so much time at Butch's home that I am sure his mom (Vivian) must have felt I was her third son.  We had some great times together..and shared lots of life's memories together.through our junior high and high school years.and even into our time at the University of Florida.so much of my life included Butch.  I am thankful for our time together.my life's story is made better by having him in it.  I will miss him.

Terry, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time.

My sister, Rheta Austin Amerson summed up how much Butch was loved and appreciated by all the Austin family.  I will always remember him as a gentle and kind spirit with a huge heart and a fun personality.  Every member of the Vernon family set an example for us all to follow. I am so blessed to have known Butch for a short time here on earth.  Looking forward to seeing him in heaven! God bless the family and all who loved him. You are in my prayers.

Butch was my friend & buddy. He was my roommate for 5 yrs. on Tropical Trail, as many of you know. What a blast we had being only in our 20's. Party time for sure! Me, Tukoe, & all the friends had a great time with Butch.I miss those  times & will always have fond memory's of my buddy Butch

In our 45 years of friendship Butch was always there for me. He was a truly wonderful person and friend. I will miss him so much. Rest in peace my friend, Judi Sinclair Bisset Arnold

Our families were close when we were members of First Baptist Satellite Beach. I was 9 years younger than Butch but I remember him as a warm, kind-hearted person. He was raised by the most humble, generous, loving Christian parents and I know he inherited that same spirit. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I'm proud to say I was a good friend of Butch.  Very witty with a great sense of humor, and a genuinely nice person.  Many good memories with him back in the 70's.  So long Buddy.

The world was a kinder place for those of us touched by Butch.  I will miss his love, his smile and his kooky sense of humor.  Rest easy, my dearest friend.  Deepest condolences to brother Terry.

Butch was one of the best people I have ever met.  Always a true friend.  We had so much fun in our younger days.
