November 19, 1947 – September 25, 2026
Connie Diann Myers, 78, of Cocoa, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on September 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 19, 1947, in Kokomo, Indiana, Connie was the daughter of the late William R. Myers and Jeanenne Mason.
Connie was a talented cosmetologist who found great joy in making others feel beautiful. While living in Swayzee, Indiana, she owned and operated her own shop from her home, the Backdoor Salon. After relocating to Florida to be with her mother and sister, she continued her career as a cosmetologist at JCPenney and, from time to time, even put her talents to work cutting hair at the Kennedy Space Center.
Above all, Connie was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother, Nana, great-grandmother, who always put her family first. Her home was a place where everyone was welcomed, loved, and, as she would have it, never left hungry. Connie was an amazing cook with countless recipes, but her macaroni and cheese was especially memorable and loved by everyone who had the pleasure of enjoying it.
A woman of Christian faith, Connie found joy in the simple things in life. She loved birdwatching and could often be found sitting on her swing in the backyard or in the dining room, watching the birds gather around her feeders. The cardinal was her favorite, and she kept a bird book close by so she could identify and name the many birds she saw. She also loved gardening and took pride in growing all kinds of flowers, vegetables and fruits, including corn, green beans, grapes, raspberries, and zucchini.
Connie enjoyed shopping, especially finding beautiful clothing and jewelry at a great price. She had a wonderful eye for a good deal. She also loved dressing up her grandchildren, doing their hair, and making sure they looked their very best. Her grandchildren will forever remember the love and attention she gave them.
She had a fun and adventurous spirit, too. One unforgettable family story involves her racing a powder-blue Pinto in Melbourne, a memory that captures her spirit.
Connie was preceded in death by her young son, Claude David Morgan III and sister, Rita Myers.
Connie will be deeply missed by her children, Michael Morgan, Candise Hoppa, and Desi Ray Brown; her sister, Linda Tipton; her grandchildren, Nicholas Ross, Michael Morgan, Makayla Morgan Turner, Makenna Morgan, Malerie Morgan, Jayden Hoppa, Reyland Hoppa, and Wyatt Hoppa; and her great-grandchildren, Nicholas Ross Jr., Madison Morgan, Arya Turner, Eleanor Bancroft, Lyla Turner, and Ava Turner. Her Niece, Summer Tipton; Great-niece, Alana Walter. Also countless cousins and family in Indiana.
She also leaves behind her beloved Shih Tzu, Missy Couture, who was a cherished companion and part of her family.
A Celebration of Connie’s Life will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens.
Connie’s life was defined by family, faith, love, laughter, and the many little moments that made a house feel like home. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her wonderful cooking, her love of nature and gardening, her sense of fun, and most of all, the unconditional love she gave to her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
