

Born July 27, 1944, in Moose Lake, Minnesota, to Pearl Agnes and Albert Victor Wicklund. He spent a happy childhood in Moose Lake surrounded by his many relatives.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1965 and served until 1971. Dennis worked for several years in Minnesota at Control Data and Honeywell, and in 1979 moved to Melbourne, FL to work at Harris Corp.
In 1983, Dennis met and married the love of his life, Susie, with whom he would spend the rest of his life.
In 1991, he was forced to leave his job as a Systems Engineer due to disability. With his strong will to live, strong faith in God and the love of his family, he was able to overcome the odds and survived several rounds of cancer (including a bone marrow transplant in 1997). He was plagued with nuisance cancers for his remaining life but met them with humor and good will.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Susie; his oldest son, Steven Wicklund and wife, Jennifer McMahon of Omaha, NE; son, Kirk Wicklund of Omaha; son, Brian Proko and wife, Rianna of Palm Bay, FL; sister-in-law, Carrie Barton and husband, William of West Melbourne; sister-in-law, Kathy Hurley and husband, Stan of West Melbourne; brother-in-law, Robert Galpin and wife, Michele of Elmira, NY; as well as 5 beautiful grandchildren he adored.
Dennis was predeceased by brother, Dale Wicklund of Orlando, FL.
Services will be held at Florida Memorial Funeral Home at 5950 South US Hwy 1, Rockledge, FL 32955. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 4th from 5 pm to 7 pm; graveside service and burial at 10 am Thursday, April 5th.
Because of his love of animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal shelter.
