Dina Wakim was born in 1979 in small town called Mieh Mieh, Lebanon, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Dina was the 2nd of 4 children and was raised in a Catholic household along with her siblings. Dina graduated from high school in Beirut.
Dina enrolled in a nursing program back in her home town, where she met her husband, Jack Wanna who was an engineer in the United States, and got married on November 1st, 1998. Dina and Jack moved to New York, where their first child, George, was born. (March 2000) Dina and her family then moved to Michigan and after a few more years, job opportunities took them to Jacksonville, Florida, where they had their 2nd child, Jason. (December 2006)
In Jacksonville Dina went to college and got her AA degree in medical administration Dina and the family moved to Dubai for 1 year before returning to Florida, where they had their 3rd child Jacob (December 2010) The family moved from Melbourne to Oviedo in order to get closer to Jack’s workplace.
Dina was diagnosed with cancer in late 2016, which she fought for 2 years before passing away on December 4th 2018 Dina was a caring wife, mother, sister and daughter and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Dina is survived by her husband Jack, her 3 kids George, Jason and Jacob, as well as her parents Henry and Bassima. Dina is also survived by her 2 brothers David and Dory as well as her sister, Dolly.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers donations be made to a Cancer Research of your choice.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday, December 6 from 5-8 pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 7 at 2 pm at Ascension Catholic Church. Interment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens. A Mercy Meal will be served following the interment on Friday, December 7 at Ascension Catholic Church at 5:30 pm.
