She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bruce, her son Christopher Davidson, his wife Kristen, her daughter Jennifer, and her husband Edwin Hill. Nana to her grandchildren Riley, Matthew, Violet, Jonah Davidson and Graham Hill.
Doris was born and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Massachusetts. After graduating, she accepted a teaching position in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Doris married Bruce in 1970 and moved to Connecticut. There she accepted a teaching position and taught science and math. Then she and Bruce moved to Maine where she taught science and math in nearby New Hampshire. She and Bruce then moved to Virginia and finally settling in Florida in 1975. Doris’ career expanded to be president of the Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science. She then went on to work for The Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Child Care Association of Brevard, and the United Way of Brevard. After retiring she started her own Management Consulting business and taught at Brevard Community College. Doris was a pioneer for her contributions to the Volunteer Management movement in Brevard County. From teaching in the local college, to lecturing and receiving awards locally and nationally. She made a difference to many lives using her gift of servant leadership.
She was a loving wife, mom, and sister, a cherished friend and a joy-filled follower of Christ. Doris loved to give hugs, in particular giggle hugs. Her sweet soul has been a welcome blessing to us all, there is a special star in heaven with her name on it.
