Dorothy R. Allen, affectionately known as Pat, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2012, at The Fountains in Melbourne, FL.
Pat was an "Army wife" for many years following or meeting her husband, Donald E. Allen, Colonel US Army Retired, around the world as he served in the Army. They were stationed in numerous locations overseas and in the United States. As an outgoing Colonel's wife, Pat hosted functions and volunteered in many capacities including in military hospitals.
She played golf, bowled and enjoyed bridge and bingo. Together she and her husband of 64 years enjoyed 36 cruises during their retirement years in Florida. In her spare time, she raised one daughter and encouraged her participation in social activities and scouts.
Pat was born Dorothy Louise Richmond on November 2, 1928 in Lyons, NY, and was raised in Newark, New York. Pat had a generous and happy spirit always had a kind word for everyone she will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; and her daughter, Margaret of Melbourne, FL; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren and one sister from Rochester, NY.
